manage your finance plz...

Last night I just told my friend... How I passed my "particular" phase in life. I quit a company without zero saving (nearly).. and then in about two years I can buy my car. Not a full payment, but even the down payment were a huge amount for me at that time.

Yes I moved and I had my increase, but I also  choose a job with lower pay afterward (due to an expectation of performance bonus, which was unrealized).

Sometimes the problem is not how much the company pay you. But how we manage our finance. Even further, I believe that God gives us our financial situation to be managed. Set your target, make yourself do your plan. Push! Don't give up, put your best effort to achieve your goal!

What I write above is not an excuse to let you get lower salary. I myself have high standard in how people appreciate other people, which... in some way, is through financial rewards. Do both. You deserve to be well paid, but also, you have to manage what you have been given.

[note: well-paid is very different from over-paid]

There were times when I felt funny that some of my friends with higher income borrow some from me. But that's life. Not everyone is talented in managing their own assets. So, I appreciate how we can trust each other and how they were very open to let me help.

Life goes on whether you have a higher salary or not. People with lower salary than you get married, make and raise their children [:-)]. For me, these all related to the quality of life they have chosen. But which comes first, actually? You want (or need) a higher quality of life, then you must seek higher salary? Or because you have an increase in your salary, then you can afford a higher quality of life?

Maybe... It's God given question for us to address.

Yup, kadang yang terpenting adalah bersyukur untuk apa yang bisa kita bisa nikmati dan bukan untuk apa yang kita bisa miliki.

"Don't put in your mouth more than what you can chew, you will be hurting yourself". Apa yang kita inginkan selalu tidak terbatas, "Give a man the Earth, and he will want the Universe". Tapi secara kontras apa yang bisa kita nikmati itu terbatas, coba misal punya gaji 100 Jt seharipun berapa banyak yang bisa kita nikmati, tentu saja terlepas dari membuang2 uang.

Bersyukur karena masih punya gigi untuk menikmati makanan, masih punya jantung untuk menikmati segarnya udara pagi, dan bersyukur karena kita masih lebih beruntung dari banyak orang di dunia ini.
